Wood Floor Mop Kit - Mop / Handle / Micro Mop Cover / Quart Cleaner

Gallon or Concentrate Hardwood Cleaner - Refills Quart Bottle

EZ Glides
Protect your flooring from scratches by using these carpet rounds or strips on any piece of furniture that moves frequently.  They peel and stick easily on the bottoms of chairs, tables, stools, etc.  They are available in 5/8" - 1" - 1-1/2" - and strips.

Glide 'n Guard
Use Glide 'n Guard under appliances when moving them to avoid scratching your flooring.  Simply place under legs of refrigerators, stoves, washers and dryers when moving them.  Keeps flooring underneath looking like new.

Polycare Floor Cleaner
Mix this mild detergent (1/4 c.) with a bucket of water and damp mop your floors.
(Hint:  Wring your mop out as much as possible to avoid leaving a heavy water residue on floors, and change your water frequently)

NOTES:

  • Do not use wood floor cleaning products sold in grocery or department stores.  Most of those products have a wax base and can leave a damaging residue on your floors.  This can cause streaking and makes sanding and refinishing your floors more difficult.
  • Expect that floorboards will expand and contract with the changing seasons.  Expansion and contraction of wood fibers cause all solid wood floors to move.  In the dry season when heat is being used in our homes, it is common to notice small cracks between flooring boards (about a dime's thickness).  Adding a humidifier to the home can minimize the contraction.  In the humid season of summer, when floorboards expand, you may notice a slight cupping.  Air condition or use a dehumidifier to minimize the expansion.  Use of a humidistat is helpful in regulating floor movement.  A constant relative humidity of 50% (with 70 degree temperature) is the ideal.
